The MK908II is the latest model in the series of the Android Mini PCs, and it brings forth a series of minor but useful upgrades, which makes it the model to buy if you haven’t. Although the MK908 can now be purchased at a discount, I would recommend that you go with the MK908II just to have lesser headaches in future.
Here’s a summary of the key changes:
- Added external wifi antenna, much better wifi signal detection
- Use the Nano Flash with controller function, the sd card writing speed can reach 16MB/S
- Improve the heatsink, make it cooler than the Tronsmart mk908

MK908II Game Review
We installed some 3D games such as ShadowGun and Modern Combat to test the game performance and overall cooling function on the MK908II, and all of them are running pretty smoothly. It was stable as well and didn’t auto reset, which plagued my MK908 – until I had to develop a cooling mod. I think the improved cooling system in the MK908II is really effective. 720P and some 1080P files run very well on XBMC too.
Overall, the MK908II worked much better than the MK908 thanks to the useful tweaks that they have introduced. While I didn’t face WiFi detection problems on the MK908, it was still an issue which attracted a number of complains from other users. The MK908II comes similarly with eHomeMediaCenter, which means you can fire up the RkRemoteControl.apk App and control the device from any other Android Smartphone. Useful.
