Here’s the new Barcelona No. 11 from OPPO

OPPO to bring Singapore football fans closer to the action with launch of limited edition FC Barcelona R11. Neymar used to wear the No 11 jersey at Barcelona before his record breaking move to PSG, and while Barcelona is still struggling to bring in his replacement, fans can well, get their hands on one from OPPO. The OPPO R11 will be available in Singapore on 26 August, with pre-orders having started already.

There will be a total of 500 sets of the FCB R11 phone exclusively for consumers in Singapore.

A key feature of the FCB R11 is its aesthetic appeal where OPPO uses the design trend of contrast colouring to showcase Barça’s traditional red and blue signature colours based on the golden ratio of its metal shell. To top it all off, the club’s 18 carat gold logo features on the body of the phone, while the user interface is themed in FC Barcelona’s bold and fashionable colours.

Innovation and boldness behind the FCB R11 colour design

The FCB R11 features complex techniques behind the golden ratio-based contrast colour design of its metal body.

OPPO has used the adhesive fill technique to create the first contrast colour antenna in the industry, giving the body of the phone layers of colours that look delicate and elegant, as well as an anodized colouring process. Together with these techniques, OPPO has also intricately treated the diffuse reflection to achieve visual comfort and purity.

To celebrate the launch of the FCB R11 in Singapore, consumers who have pre-ordered the phone will receive an exclusive OPPO x FC Barcelona backpack and go into a lucky draw to win a FC Barcelona jersey signed by club stars including Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique. Other prizes include appliances from FC Barcelona Premium Partner, Beko, and FC Barcelona home jerseys.

OPPO will also transform part of the OPPO Suntec City Concept Store into a Barça fan experience zone. Fans can take part in the FIFA 17 Barcelona Challenge to try their luck at beating rivals Real Madrid and enter the draw to win a FC Barcelona jersey.

OPPO’s flagship R11 features a sleek and streamlined appearance and boasts the world’s first 20MP front camera and 20MP+16MP rear dual camera, allowing sports fans to capture the action on field in greater clarity. Consumers can also master the art of clear portraits with the R11, thanks to the foreground bokeh effect, the automatic HDR function, and intelligent skin tone beautification technology that ensure every shot is captured to perfection.

The limited-edition FCB R11 retails at S$799 and is available for pre-order from 12-25 August at all OPPO concept stores and online at the official OPPO Singapore website https://www.oppostore.com.sg/.

Hands on with the Oppo Find 7

Oppo’s flagship Find 7 is still pretty amazing spec-wise when compared to the current range of top end smart phones. After its announcement in March, the Oppo 7 still ranks highly as compared to other flagship phones. To show just how high the specifications are, the recently launched Xperia Z3 (announced about two weeks ago) still uses the same Snapdragon SoC as the Find 7. Evidently, the Oppo Find 7, which is largely similar to the OnePlus One holds a lot of promise despite its age.

Unlike Oppo’s N1, Oppo opted for a more traditional look and the Find 7 might even be considered boring. The front shows off the 5.5″ screen, with a row of capacitive buttons at the bottom. Many manufacturers have increasingly opted to do away with these buttons and rely on software buttons instead. These are the older style Android buttons with the menu / setting button instead of the task switcher. The back button is on the right side which could be irritating for some but I do prefer it there for quick access with my thumb (I’m right handed). The plus point about software buttons is that they can be customised.

The Find 7 has an angular shape, with slightly tapered edges and there’s a metal trim surrounding it. The back casing is a textured plastic material with a weave design, which offers good grip. Overall, the phone is rather slim at 9.2mm but a bit on the heavier side at 171g. However, the slim profile does help in the overall handling of the phone and it is comfortable to use, albeit with two hands.

Review of OPPO N1 Mini – Impressive Swivel Camera

The OPPO N1 Mini is the smaller sibling to the OPPO N1, shrinking in size but still retaining the iconic swivel camera. With the ability to rotate the 13 megapixel camera 195 degrees, the phone is truly one for the photo fanatic, especially for those who love selfies. It’s a good alternative to the OPPO N1 which at 5.9″ might be a tad too big for some users. I initially harboured thoughts that the swivel camera might have been more of a gimmick but after using it for the review, I found it a rather nice feature to have.
