Leaked Information on the LG Optimus G Pro

As we await the release of the Optimus G in Singapore, news of the potential successor is already making headlines on the Internet. The next flagship device from LG will be the LG Optimus G Pro.

According to the leaked slide, which looks intended for the Japanese media, the Optimus G Pro is revealed to contain the season’s favourite trend, the 5 inch display with 1080p resolution. It would also come with Android Jelly Bean, 1.7GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 13MP rear facing camera, and a 3,000 mAh battery. Notwithstanding, the other features help to cement it as another top phone, along the likes of the HTC Butterfly, Sony Xperia Z and also the Samsung Galaxy S4.

This is just a leaked release and more information would likely only be available after Mobile World Congress 2013. Like the Optimus G, it will likely launch first in Japan through NTT DoCoMo, and maybe visit other markets, with Singapore probably few months thereafter. Hopefully that timing of release would improve but it might not be in the best marketing strategy to release the LG Optimus G Pro shortly after the Optimus G, but I suspect LG’s hand could be forced by other competing manufacturers.

We have high hopes for the Optimus G Pro when it is launched. LG has shown they can compete with the top ranking performing Android phones since the launch of the LG Nexus 4 and also the Optimus G. Both these phones have ranked well in terms of specifications and overall build quality.
