A Supersized HTC One Max

HTC is targeting the large phone consumer segment with their 5.9″ and Sense 5.5 equipped HTC One Max. It brings the HTC One alumnium design, functionality, and performance over to a large screen format. The new feature includes a fingerprint scan, same as the iPhone 5S, and Sense 5.5 with a better overall software experience.

The HTC One max’s 5.9” full HD1080p display is great for enjoying photos, videos and movies on the go. Its smooth and efficient performance comes courtesy of a quad-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 600 processor, which features a quad-core 1.7 GHz CPU. This might be a tad slower than the Galaxy Note 3 or the LG G2 though.

With a microSD™ card slot, the 16GB onboard memory can also be expanded. On top of that, users can enjoy a massive 50GB of additional free Google Drive online storage, an offer exclusive to HTC Sense 5.5 users. Apparently, HTC One owners who upgrade to Sense 5.5 get the dropbox storage bump as well. The HTC One max also comes with a large 3300mAh embedded battery, maximising its level of performance, and ensuring the phone is built to last for a longer duration.

The average person will check his or her phone multiple times a day, so HTC is set to usher in a new era of convenience and advanced functionality with its built-in Fingerprint Scan feature on the HTC One max. Positioned at the back of the device, the fingerprint scanner allows users to lock and unlock the screen effortlessly and rapidly launch up to three favourite applications by assigning an individual finger to each application. Interestingly, the fingerprint sensor position is similar to LG G2 power button. Looks like the trend will continue.

The HTC One max’s Sense 5.5 upgrade comes with a more social, personalised HTC BlinkFeed that can be further refined by customisable topic categories and new integration with premium content providers including Instagram and Google+. Up to 120 articles can also be downloaded for offline viewing, which is useful, especially for those who often take trains. Our mobile connectivity is terrible underground.

The HTC One max will be available in Glacial Sliver from 2 November 2013 at M1, SingTel and StarHub, as well as selected authorised resellers. The HTC One max in Stealth Black will be available at a later date. Recommended retail price: HTC One max (S$1,028).
