PlayStation Turns 20! PS4 in Original Colors Special Anniversary Edition

It’s been 20 years since the launch of the original PlayStation, which released in Japan on December 3rd, 1994. 20 years is a long time! Over the past two decades, PlayStation has given gamers plenty of thrills and excitement. To celebrate the milestone of turning 20 this December, the company has announced a commemorative edition of the PS4, one that uses the color scheme of the original machine, termed “Original Grey”. Only 12,300 units will be sold worldwide — the number derived from the launch date.

The entire package, including accessories painted in “Original Grey,” will come in a special box. It will be made available for the price of SGD689 in Singapore, IDR7,399,000 in Indonesia, RM1,779 in Malaysia, PHP26,999 in The Philippines, and THB20,990 in Thailand.

Getting your hands on this console is not going to be easy. You would to participate in a Sony competition. This edition is super rare, in fact ONLY 18 UNITS will be sold in Singapore. Post a photo or video that relates to “PlayStation® 20th Anniversary” on Instagram with the hashtag #PS20SG before 21 December, 2014. All winners will be determined by number of likes on Instagram (50%) and selected by Sony’s judging panel according to creative, inspiring and styling factors (50%). Ouch.
