Avengers-themed Tablets and Laptops Lands in Singapore
Iron Man landed in Singapore last night alongside three new Avengers-themed Windows 10 devices. Inspired by the iconic Avengers logo and the signature design motifs of Captain America and Iron Man, the devices come in iconic shells and at an affordable price range for the Marvel fanatics.
Priced from S$429, the devices run on Windows 10 and will be pre-installed with Microsoft Office Mobile apps for free. These devices will sport a series of custom wallpapers as well as unique Avengers icons that make the experience even more personal. Each device sold will also include a specially designed carrying sleeve or pouch.
Brought to you by the same folks who brought in the Hello Kitty themed tablet / laptop 2-in-1, they are relying on the Avengers-inspired design to appeal to fans.
AVR10T – 10.1” Windows 10 2-in-1
Arm yourself with the 10.1-inch AVR10T, a 2-in-1 convertible that takes after Tony Stark’s unmistakable colour schemes and ornamentation. Complete with a glowing Arc Reactor on its lid, the AVR10T takes on touch missions with gusto, then snaps smoothly into a detachable keyboard for typing duty.
Priced from $429.
AVR116T – 11.6” Windows 10 2-in-1
For more complex operations that no single superhero can accomplish, look no further than the AVR116T. Featuring the Avengers icon on the custom cover, this 11.6-inch broadens your tactical view with a larger display and an attention-grabbing logo that lights up the dark.
Priced from $499.
AVR141R – 14.1” Windows 10 Touch Notebook
For fighters of evil who prefer a more traditional battle tool with a twist, the AVR141R is a familiar clamshell notebook packed with a 14-inch full HD touch display and a massive battery. The AVR141R also comes with 100GB of OneDrive storage for two years, for safely storing, securing and backing-up all your data before they’re wiped out by your nemesis.
Priced from $549.
These are rather low end laptops / tablets, and not something I would think that Tony Stark would approve. The resolution is low and we are talking eMMC here, not SSD. I spotted a 32GB eMMC in the specs for the AVR141R and the AVR116T. The AVR10T comes with a 64GB eMMC. 32GB is really quite small for a Windows machine.
All 3 devices are powered by an Intel X5 Z8300 with 4GB DDR3 RAM, and are at least more port-friendly than the new Macbook. They do come with a USB-C port, and the bigger devices come with USB 3.0 as well. While the specifications wouldn’t appeal to the hardcore users, selling point for these devices are really on the design. So Marvel fans, do check them out. The devices will be available at retail in Singapore from 10 December, 2016.
It was quite appropriate that the launch was held at Hungry Heroes.
They have a really cool range of toys and statues on display at the restaurant. Even the lights are adorned with action figures. I am guessing the owners are using the restaurant to house their collection of toys and super heroes memorabilia. Hungry Heroes is the first Superhero and Pop Art Themed Restaurant in Singapore.
