Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro Available in Singapore

Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro is their latest addition to Samsung’s basic range, a compact smartphone that could do better in terms of it’s spec offering.

The new Galaxy J2 Pro boasts a 5” qHD Super AMOLED screen – which in numbers translate to a 960 x 540 screen. AMOLED might mitigate with better colours but don’t expect good sharpness at that sort of resolution. Running on only 1.5 GB RAM and a Snapdragon 425 CPU, this is not the phone for playing games. The camera is of better spec. With a 8MP (f2.2) rear camera and a 5MP (f2.2) front camera, the Galaxy J2 Pro allows users to capture the perfect selfies. With the front camera’s LED flash, users can now capture bright selfies even in low-light conditions, ensuring high-quality images anywhere and anytime.

Equipped with Dual SIM capabilities, users will always stay connected with the new Galaxy J2 Pro. In addition, the Galaxy J2 Pro is also equipped with 16GB of internal memory and up to 256GB of expandable memory, allowing users to enjoy additional storage flexibility for their favourite content.

The Galaxy J2 Pro will be available in Gold and Black, at the recommended retail price of $198. It will be available from 27 January 2018 at all local telecommunication operators, selected consumer electronic stores, authorised mobile retailers, Samsung Experience Stores and selected online marketplace.

Specifications wise – this phone compares rather unfavourably to what’s available on the market. Unless you are a big Samsung fan, the Xiaomi Redmi phones offer greater value, and if you are willing to top up an additional $50-$60, the Xiaomi A1 which runs on Android One is a great alternative.
