Singtel/M1 iPhone 5 Launch Event Details (21 Sep at Marina Bay Sands)

Singtel has updated their launch event details. Sales of the iPhone 5 will commence from 8am on 21 Sep, Friday at Marina Bay Sands. Looks like you will get the phones earlier than your US counterparts! The good thing is that this time around, by holding it at MBS instead of Comcentre should allow for a more organised queuing system. And on a Friday morning, should thin out the crowd a fair bit except for those hardcore Apple fans who might actually take leave to get their hands on an iPhone 5.

M1 also has announced its sales plans for the iPhone 5. Likewise, it will start at 8am but it will be all around the island, the iPhone 5 will be available from 8:00am at all M1 Shops and selected exclusive dealer shops.

So would Starhub be selling the iPhone 5 on September? Looks like the delay of them rolling out the 4G LTE may have bigger implications. However, CSO at Starhub have reported that they will sell the phone tomorrow at the Starhub outlets and have been referring customers to their website, which has not been updated for sometime. This delay is bound to irate Starhub customers even more with both Singtel and M1 clearly ahead in terms of customer relationship management and have committed to sell the phone on Friday from 8am. Are they just waiting for Singtel and M1 to release their prices (which has already been announced) before they commit their own price plans? Some rumours that the email details would be sent out tomorrow but that is leaving it too late. I do hope Starhub is able to get their act together otherwise Starhub customers would really be green in envy at their M1 and Singtel friends instead.
