Galaxy S4 Active – Singapore Launch

Following the trend of the Xperia Z, Samsung has announced an Active Model of the Galaxy S4, which is basically an “armoured” version of the Samsung Galaxy S4, with a rubberised plastic casing to make it both dust and water resistant. For those sport junkies or just working in the outdoors, this would be a great phone for you.

Samsung’s pretty and slim Galaxy S4 now comes in a toughed-up version that promises to be dust- and water-resistant, which will suit outdoor lovers or those who have a tendency to abuse their phones.

According to the Korean electronics company, the Galaxy S4 Active has a fully sealed design that keeps dust particles out and can withstand 30 minutes of submergence in water at a depth of one meter, without water damage. This is pretty similar to the Xperia Z.

For specifications wise, the Galaxy S4 Active is pretty similar to the Singapore LTE model of the Galaxy S4, which is also powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core processor and has a 5-inch full HD screen, as well as an 8-meg rear camera. All other software features would be applicable to the Galaxy S4 Active as well.

It will be out in Singapore in the third quarter of 2013.

Beyond the Galaxy S4 Active, it seems like there’s a Buffet of Galaxy S4s recently – ‘normal’ S4, S4 Active, S4 Mini, S4 Google Experience and a S4 Zoom. Take your pick on the suitable model to suit your needs. According to a report from gadget blog TechTastic, Samsung Kazakhstan accidentally mentioned the Galaxy S4 Zoom and Galaxy Note III on a webpage pitching its special VIP service. The S4 Zoom will be among several variants of the flagship Galaxy S4 that Samsung is launching this year, and recent reports suggest it will feature a 16-megapixel camera with 10x optical zoom and image stabilization, a 4.3-inch qHD display and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy S4 Zoom is expected to be unveiled during Samsung’s press conference on June 20th.
