Overall, the dual core processor Snapdragon 400 is decent, though the 1GB RAM may not be sufficient for multitaskers. In fact, Android Police calls it an awkward, RAM-deprived middle child. That might be a little harsh, considering that other phones in this range, like the S4 Mini are similarly spec-ed. Otherwise, it runs Android 4.2.2 with Sense 5, and its 720p S-LCD2 display with Gorilla Glass 3 is quite impressive for a “mid-range” phone.

There were also other corners that HTC took liberty in cutting. It seems like the BoomSound speakers, despite having the namesake, had a reduction in quality along the size, not as great quality as that of the HTC One. There’s also no NFC in the One Mini. If you were impressed by friends controlling their TVs and other IR devices on the HTC One or S4, well, the HTC One Mini has no IR Blaster too. Lastly, the OIS feature on the UltraPixel camera is also not available.
