Vivostick TS10 – Carry Your PC With You
The ASUS Vivostick, a pocket-sized PC turns any HDMI display or TV into a Windows PC or smart TV for work or play. VivoStick is powered by an Intel® Atom™ processor with 2GB RAM, 32GB of onboard storage space, and USB expansion ports too.
The fountain pen-inspired VivoStick features smooth, elegant lines and an understated high-sheen luster coat. Its power button and HDMI cap sports the classic Zen-inspired spun-metal-effect finish. Its slim and compact design measures just 135 x 36 x 16.5mm to save precious desktop space; and it can be mounted on the back of a display thanks to the exclusive bundled VivoStick Holder and extension cable.
The choice of a 9V power supply means that the Vivostick cannot be powered off a TV USB port. Neither can you use your phone charger. That limits portability somewhat.
It is described as ideal for home entertainment hubs — ASUS HyStream to stream HD content to TVs. ASUS VivoRemote app lets users control VivoStick via their mobile devices. Although personally, Android boxes or sticks are far more suited due to the wide ranging applications and content available, as well as control.
Otherwise, it is a cost-effective and energy-efficient computing solution for offices and educational institutions, digital signage and kiosks, or for employees on the go. The included holder is a useful accessory too.
The Intel Atom chipset can be found in Windows based tablets (like the Hello Kitty tablet which we reviewed recently).
