Quick Look : HTC U Ultra & U Play

HTC Singapore (@HTC_Singapore) held an event to launch their latest product HTC U Ultra & U Play.

HTC U Ultra

The HTC U Ultra comes with a large 5.7-inch QuadHD display with an additional 2.05-inch display on the top right-hand side of the phone. HTC U Ultra is powered by Snapdragon 821,  4GB of RAM as well as 64GB internal storage. U Ultra is running on latest Android Nougat with HTC Sense so you can be sure that the performance & changing of the interface will be buttery smooth.

An interesting thing to note would be the HTC U Ultra’s rear camera has a lower pixels count comparing to the front camera (12MP v 16MP). The rear camera is similar to HTC 10 thus we believe it will produce the same excellent camera quality.

HTC U Play

HTC U Play comes with a 5.2-inch FHD display. HTC U Play is powered by MediaTek Helio P10, 4GB of RAM and comes with 64GB internal storage. The Mediatek Helio P10 is one of the better performed mid-range processors in the market with the performance equivalent to Snapdragon 650.

U Play comes with both front & rear 16MP camera (however you will be missing out on Laser Autofocus on U Play as it is only available on U Ultra)

Overall

You may wish to note that both U Ultra & U Play comes only with USB-C port with the omission of 3.5mm audio jack. It is unlikely a deal breaker as we have seen iPhone 7 users getting used to the same setup without any complaint.

Both devices come with a glossy finish so you probably want to invest in a phone case to prevent them from turning into a fingerprint magnet.

The U Ultra will be retailing for $848 while U Play will be available for $548.
