Nexus 7 2013 – Free Shipping to Singapore via Amazon

The new Nexus 2013 Nexus 7 is probably the best spec 7″ Android tablet, with the world’s highest resolution on a 7-inch tablet and equipped with the latest Google Android software. Now thinner, lighter, and faster, the Nexus 7 2013 version saw all around critical improvements. However, it was only available in US through the Google Play Store, but not any longer, as it has found it’s way to Singapore buyers.

While initial versions were plagued by issues to overall screen sensitivity and GPS bugs, according to Google, both issues have been addressed by an software update. The Nexus 7 still remains made by ASUS and packs a serious punch. With a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM, everything runs faster. Plus, high-performance rendering ensures 3D graphics are smooth and dynamic. The LTE version from US is not compatible with Singapore’s network, so just stick to the WiFi version.

How to buy the Nexus 7 2013 in Singapore

The easiest way now is to buy it directly from Amazon, which offers it at the same price of US$229 – same as the Google Play Store. 32GB is not available for direct shipping.

Alternatively, if Amazon were to one day change their mind, you can still get it from Google Play Store. Just remember, you would need to access the website through a VPN or DNS re-router and shipping could be through ComGateway or VPost, which should set you back by around US$20-US$25.

Opinions on the Nexus 7 2013

Google have made all of the right improvements to the product, and the result is a significantly improved product for a marginally higher cost. The new screen is absolutely stunning. Some people argue that the resolution of 323 pixels per inch is unnecessary, but you can really see the difference when you use it in person. Text is significantly sharper and a little easier on the eye to read. Using the tablet to watch videos and see pictures produces a stunning result.

It’s strange; a few days ago I was satisfied with the decent albeit declining performance of my 1st Gen Nexus 7. However, the new processor clearly trumps the original and makes the older model feels like a dinosaur. This alone is reason enough to upgrade. In addition, the Nexus 7 has regained the slim and light weight advantage. It helps provide a more comfortable long term usage experience.
